About the event

We warmly invite you to Celebrating Our Girls: a gentle, heart-centred circle for daughters and their mothers (or mother figures), created to honour the threshold of change.

Together, we will gather in a supportive and nurturing space to recognize this meaningful transition from girlhood toward young womanhood. Through shared experiences, creativity, and guided reflection, we will open space for conversation, connection, and a deeper understanding of the changing body, emotions, and inner world.

This is a time to slow down. To listen. To honour what is unfolding.

You will leave not only with meaningful memories and shared moments, but with a strengthened bond between generations, and a sense of being held within a wider circle of care and community.

All materials provided.

Just come as you are.

This gathering circle is designed for daughters ages 10–14 and their mothers or mother figures.

Why This Circle Matters

So often, these transitions happen in the background of busy lives.

But what if we chose something different?

What if we gathered…. to witness our daughters as they begin to step into a new season and to meet them there... not ahead of them, not behind them... but beside them.

In circle, our girls begin to see:

  • that they are not alone in what they are experiencing

  • that there is strength in softness and connection

  • that there is space for each of them to be fully themselves

And as mothers, we are offered something too:

  • a moment to slow down and truly see who our daughters are becoming

  • space to reflect on our own relationship to growth, change, and the feminine

  • a reminder that we are still learning, still unfolding, too

This offering is rooted in the understanding that transitions deserve to be witnessed, honoured, and held in community.

Together, we will explore:

  • What it means to stand at the threshold of change

  • How we can create rituals that bring meaning to this stage of life

  • Ways to centre ourselves through connection, reflection, and presence

  • The unfolding of the feminine journey, from biological rhythms to emotional and communal wisdom

There is something powerful in gathering this way. Within the circle, this way of being is gently supported. Through conversation, creativity, and quiet moments of reflection, a new thread begins to weave itself between mother and daughter: one of mutual respect, deepening trust, and growing understanding.

What We Will Hold Together

This circle is a space for:

  • Connection: between mothers and daughters, and within a wider circle of community

  • Creativity: as a way to express what cannot always be spoken

  • Conversation: honest, gentle, and without judgement

  • Ritual: simple, meaningful ways to mark this threshold

Together, we explore the many expressions of the feminine, from inner rhythms and body awareness to the power of community and collective support.

Creating & Expressing

Through art and making, we give form to what is shifting within.

The girls, and their mothers, will be invited into creative experiences such as:

  • working with clay, paint, and natural materials

  • creating personal symbols of this transition

  • contributing to a shared closing ceremony

These are not projects to perfect, but experiences to move through each one reflecting something of their own journey.

Circle is Held by Heather & Ashley

This circle was birthed by Heather and is gently guided by Heather and Ashley, who together hold both the creative and emotional landscape of the experience.

Ashley brings a deep reverence for creativity, offering space for expression, imagination, and meaning-making through art.

Heather holds the emotional and relational space, supporting both generations in navigating this transition with care, presence, and understanding.

Together, they create a space that is steady, nurturing, and deeply human.

Heather Hurst

Heather has been an integral part of Rewilding Education since its earliest days, helping to gently shape the heart and rhythm of the program with care, presence, and deep devotion. She carries a quiet steadiness, one that is felt more than spoken, offering warmth, compassion, and a thoughtful attunement to both children and their families. As she continues her studies toward a Master’s in Psychotherapy, Heather brings a deepening understanding of the inner life: of emotional development, attachment, and the unseen threads that weave us together. This wisdom is held with humility and intention, and offered in a way that honours each individual’s unfolding.

There is a common belief that the earliest years are the most important and indeed, they are foundational. But there is another season, more subtle and often less spoken of, that asks just as much of us. These middle years, when a child begins to stand at the threshold between worlds, carry a quiet tenderness. It is a time when the body begins to change, when inner questions arise, and when a deeper awareness of self begins to awaken. And in this space, our children often need us in new and profound ways.

Not to do for them, as we once did, but to be beside them. To listen more deeply. To hold steady as they shift and grow.

This is the work Heather so gently tends to. She helps create a space where these changes can be met with reverence rather than rush, where feelings are welcomed as messengers, and where both mothers and daughters can remain in connection as the path begins to widen. In circle, held by rhythm and relationship, something sacred emerges: stories are shared, experiences are mirrored, and a quiet knowing begins to take root: that this unfolding is natural, that it is worthy of honour, and that none of us are meant to walk it alone.

Ashley Becklund

Ashley has been a steady and grounding presence within Rewilding Education, bringing with her a deep love for creativity, beauty, and the quiet unfolding of each child’s inner world. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts, she carries a strong reverence for the creative process, not as something to perfect, but as something to experience. In her presence, art becomes a language through which both children and adults can express what words often cannot. She holds space with gentleness and intention, offering invitations rather than instruction, and trusting in each person’s natural capacity to create, explore, and make meaning. Her work is rooted in the understanding that creativity is not separate from growth, it is a vital part of it.

In these middle years, as children begin to sense new stirrings within themselves, expression becomes especially important. There is so much that is felt, yet not always easily spoken. Through the movement of hands, through clay, colour, texture, and form, these inner experiences can begin to take shape in a way that feels safe, natural, and true.

Ashley tends to this process with great care. She creates opportunities not only for the girls to explore what this transition feels like for them, but also for the mother figures to reflect on their own experience of witnessing this change. Through shared and individual creative work, both generations are invited into a quieter space of noticing of what is shifting, what is being held, and what is ready to be honoured.

Not rushed. Not directed. But gently guided.

In this space, creativity becomes more than an activity, it becomes a bridge. A way of connecting to self, to one another, and to the deeper rhythms of change. For the girls, it offers a pathway to express and understand their unfolding. For the mother figures, it offers a moment to pause, to process, and to meet this transition with intention and care. Through Ashley’s guidance, the circle becomes a place where both generations can soften into the experience, strengthen their connection, and step forward with a quiet sense of trust in the journey ahead.
