Farm & Forest Families
STAY AND PLAY
_edited.png)
Welcome to Farm & Forest Families Stay and Play, where we invite you to immerse yourself in the natural world with your little ones. This program is a Drop-In Program, meaning there's no long term commitment. Sign-up for one class or all of them! While this is a drop-in by-donation program, you will need to register online and fill out the waiver form before arriving.
You will have the chance to get a tour through our farm, visit our gentle chickens and goats, and enjoy free play in our Forest Nest Play Spot. Led by an experienced educator, our program offers a delightful blend of farm tours, animal visits, and unstructured outdoor play, all within a warm, natural and nurturing environment.
Here, we embrace the rhythms of nature and foster a sense of wonder, curiosity, and connection to the Earth. Our approach is gentle and holistic, offering caregivers and children alike the opportunity to bond and explore in a safe, community-centered space. Our programs run rain or shine, though in the event of severe weather (thunderstorms, heat warnings, wind warnings, extreme cold), we will notify you by email at least 2 hours in advance. Come join us, reconnect with nature, and spend quality family time together.

What to Expect:
-
PARKING: When you arrive, please park in the front parking lot — immediately to the right as you turn into the driveway. From there, follow the path down to the grey barn with the green and purple quilt art, where you’ll meet our educator to begin the morning together.
-
We’ll start with some free play and exploration in our outdoor play area — the mud kitchen, climbing structures, and seasonal activities will be ready for your little ones to enjoy while we wait for everyone to arrive. Once gathered, we’ll open our time together with a song acknowledging the land and the beings who share it with us.
-
Each week brings something new — some days we’ll explore the gardens or help with a small farming task, and other days we’ll visit the chicken coop to feed our feathered friends.
-
On our journey to the forest, we'll visit Old Maple, our beloved 200-year-old tree for a circle time with a short song and story. This is the perfect time for a quick snack.
-
We’ll then head out on our adventure to the forest, pausing at the edge to greet the forest and ask for permission to come and play. Together, we’ll take a short hike along the trail to our forest play spot, where children can explore, imagine, and connect deeply with nature through unhurried, open-ended play.
-
We'll wrap up our time together by singing our goodbye song, thanking the forest and "hug-a-tree!"

FAQs
Is the farm accessible?
Our paths are a mix of packed dirt, wood chips, and grass, which can be uneven in places. We do have an accessible porta-potty available on site.
Is there anywhere to change a diaper?
At this time, we do not have dedicated diapering facilities. We have an accessible porta-potty with a potty seat and a stool. Please plan to bring your own change mat or supplies to use during your visit.
Can I shop at the farm while I’m there?
Our farm has shifted to an online pre-order system. You can place your order on Thursday or Friday through our online store and pick it up on Saturday morning when you visit.
What kind of animals can I expect to visit?
During the Spring, Summer and Fall months, we have goats, chickens, and rabbits that we visit and feed. There are also two working farm dogs on the property as well as 4 barn cats that sometimes come out to visit us. We are not a petting zoo nor do we have a lot of traditional farm animals to visit. (No horses, no cows, no pigs etc.)
